Country:
Two river systems flow through the property with the Birrie River forming part of the eastern boundary with 16kms of single frontage and principally double frontage to the Culgoa River for 20kms through the centre of the property.
Black and grey soil flooded river flats and channels with up to 30% going under water in a flood event. This country is heavily grassed with light lignum and areas of golden goosefoot extending out to chocolate soils. Open and broken gidyea plains, expansive flats with gilgais and self mulching soils and some areas of fallen rung gidyea and soft red loams.
There is melaleuca and red gums on the river, with coolibah and river box in the country adjacent to the river. Whitewood, leopardwood, dogwood and black wattle, with curran and cotton bush scattered on the plains country.
Grasses include neverfail, warrego, coolah, mitchell and umbrella. Over the past six years there has been; 46.5kms of new square knot 7/90/30 hinged joint erected with three belly wires and top barb and 49kms of predominately 6/70/30 hinged joint tied onto existing steel suspension fence completed in recent years.
Water:
The Culgoa and Birrie Rivers have permanent and semi-permanent water holes. Fifteen ground tanks (six are fenced off with enclosures); five have been recently constructed and are 5,000 - 20,000 cubic yards with the balance desilted or cleaned out in recent years. Share bore at the Mundiwa shed supplies the house and three tanks, four troughs and a cup and saucer through 17.5kms PN8 50 mm metric poly-pipe. A windmill supplies water to a tank and four troughs at Twin Rivers.
Carrying Capacity:
9,500 D.S.E. - currently running 3,000 Dorper ewes and lambs along with 700 mixed cattle.
