Last Listing description (June 2007)

A Narrabeen landmark
This big old weatherboard cottage is a Narrabeen landmark, situated on a corner with straight 50 m access to the golden sands of North Narrabeen beach, while Narrabeen Lagoon lies 150 m to the west and the lovely Narrabeen Inlet and lagoon beach 200 m to the north. This house fell off the back of a truck nearly 30 years ago, when it was moved from Ocean Grove at Collaroy Basin all in one piece and then refitted on this site. A verandah was added for the front and a large deck and bed rooms built at the rear.
Accommodation upstairs consists of three bedrooms, a lounge, verandah/study, kitchen, sunroom and bathroom, while downstairs is a separate bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and extensive storage and workshop area.

It’s corner position gives it direct access across the road to the beach and allows views of the sea from the front rooms and garden. An extra floor would provide ocean views. Off street parking is a big bonus with the side drive and garage fronting onto a quiet street. The very high roofed carport and high door allow for storage of a caravan . When not used for that purpose, it is a very pleasant garden ‘room’ for extra entertaining and family activities.
The cottage type garden has been extensively improved over the years by the addition of masses of organic materials and the right choice of plants to grow so near the sea. A vegetable patch and flowers growing on Ocean Street are quite unusual.
The house is constructed of red Mahogany weatherboards both inside and out and has stood the test of time. The high ceilings in each bedroom have been fitted with unusual loft beds suitable for a child’s hide away or extra house-hold storage space.
Due to the sloping nature of the site the house has a huge amount of underneath storage area, completely dry and weatherproof.
The garden is securely fenced with three access gates plus the automatic garage rolladoor.
