History
Perricoota Station was first settled in 1843 and in the early 1860s part of the present homestead was built in 1865. In the late 1800s the property was used for cattle and sheep and the owners at the time were also part-owners in Cobb & Co and also used the property extensively for depastured and breeding hundreds of their coach horses. At the turn of the century Perricoota was sold to F. S. Falkiner & Sons, the world famous Merino sheep breeders, the Falkiners owning the property until 1911 when the Watson brothers, originally from Bendigo assumed ownership.
The first citrus trees were planted in 1913 and planting continued until 1937 when about 130 Acres had been planted. Re-planting was commenced again in 1968 and in 1994 there were approximately 14,500 trees on 110 irrigated acres.
In the early 1900s the citrus operation ceased however the citrus trees are still present and fruitful today. In September 2010 the present owner purchased the property and brought it back to its former glory of retaining Moamas history.
