HISTORICAL PROMINENCE
A venerable, stately home closely associated with the significant early history of Grenfell. Originally constructed by Thomas Kirkpatrick, a noted builder of that era whose projects included the Holy Trinity Anglican church, it was reputed to be the first house in NSW to be built of pise with an imported english oil mixture. Commissioned by his sister and brother-in-law Robert Hill, it came to be colloquially known as the mayor's house, as Robert Hill and his business partner Ralph Halls (Hill & Halls Stores) were entrepreneurally and civically active in local municipal affairs.
In later years it was occupied and used as a surgery by at least 4 well reputed local medical practitioners, as well as providing a town house for a prominent local pastoral family, who renamed it Annalong House after one of their properties.

The present owners have resided there for the past 42 years and are only reluctantly selling to downsize.
This residence, as mentioned previously is principally built of pise, which in places is between 45-60cm thick and has high timber ceilings which are well over 3.5 metres in height. Sensibly renovated over the years in keeping with its character, and with many retained period features, it offers 3 generously sized bedrooms, huge living room and lounge room, a dining room, a practical kitchen (including a fuel stove), wrap-around verandahs, a cool underhouse cellar, plus has the modern convenience of reverse cycle air conditioning.
Situated with a short stroll to the main shopping centre, this home offers the complete package to an astute, discerning buyer.
