Camellias begin blooming in early autumn and continue well into spring. This is a nurseryman's garden, planted with interesting species Ben trialled or propagated. The camellias and other plants have produced many offspring!

Large established trees provide height, shade and year-round interest and include significant Hoop pine, spreading Chinese elm, brilliant autumn colour from Tulepo and Fagus - copper beech. Mature Swamp cypress and box hedging feature in the driveway gardens. Native trees include towering Sydney blue gums, banksias and Illawarra flame. Cerise pink crepe myrtle bloom in summer. Magnificent magnolia trees are a picture during winter. Mature weeping maple trees resembling life-size bonsai feature by the front door. Many flowering shrubs, roses and perennial ground covers and hybrid clivia add colour and interest throughout the year. The garden attracts a host of birdlife. Well established productive citrus trees include lemons, mandarins, orange, lime and finger lime trees are located close to the kitchen for easy access. Sun-drenched raised vegetable beds were highly productive during Bens tenure.

Sweeping lawns give the gardens a parklike feel and a hidden sunken garden offers privacy from the road. The garden has a working irrigation system with drippers and sprays and most of the pot plants are also connected to the irrigation. The garden is currently well maintained by a gardener one day a week and additional mowing as required for lawns and paddock.
