Fernleigh, a 16 hectare (40 acres) of mostly clear and level land, featuring a 5-bedroom plus study home with triple carport and an extra-large machinery shed for all the toys. The homestead sits high on the private peninsular with only the river as its neighbour.

The Fernleigh peninsular is rarely farmed. Mainly used for the enjoyment of family and their friends. Over the years there has been many a barbeque on their private beach or relaxing around the pool or in the spa or a quiet moment feeding the local parrots and sharing the day's happenings.

There are only a handful of small rural holdings along the Clyde's 145km shoreline, the rest of the land is managed State Forest and National Park.

The Clyde River is full of history and fame. In the 1840's hardwood timber was collected for the expansion of the young colony and used as railway sleepers and for the building of wharves. By 1883 there were 13 timber mills in production in the area, now there are none. There is no longer any industry being operated on the banks of the Clyde River today.

The Clyde River is part of the Batemans Marine Park its pristine waters contribute to the quality of the internationally renowned Clyde River oysters. The oysters exceptionally high quality, resulting from the purity of Clyde Rivers waters from where they have grown.
They are a great delicacy and people travel from all over to feast on the Clyde Rivers bounty.
