The short drive between Canberra and Goulburn can hold many secrets that most of us will never know. Although, one of these secrets is slowly coming out and more people are starting to find the pure Australian beauty that is Collector.

The owners whom are deeply saddened to be leaving what they described as the best community they have ever been a part of, detailed to me what made them fall in love with the town.

"We almost knew this was right for us immediately. I will never forget the picturesque tree-lined roads as we drove into the cutest little hidden village in the Southern Highlands."

"We will miss the familiarity of the cafes, one two doors up the street in the hub of the village and another just over the highway with the most delicious food. The family friendly pub introduced us to our first ever Friday night meat raffle. There are always live bands, yoga at the local hall and the community cricket event on Australia day down at the Oval is an experience we will always cherish."

"It's a quiet yet bustling town. Although for us as parents with kids of various ages we were taken aback at just how wonderful the staff and teachers are at the beautiful Collector primary school. It is ideal for kids K to 6 and even has a fantastic before and after school program. For our older kids' buses run from Collector to Goulburn or Canberra, which made life very easy with sporadic work schedules."

The home itself is built to be highly energy efficient. It features high rated insulation, solar passive orientation as well as specifically designed placement of rooms and windows. A 5-kilowatt solar system and solar hot water meets the needs of even the largest families. Each room is fitted with ceiling fans to maximise airflow. The main living area is home designed to hug a fireplace that keeps the entire home cosy. The owners have even added a brand-new split system unit for those that want an extra burst of hot or cold.

The home has clearly been designed with a sense of space in mind. Each bedroom is large in nature and features built in wardrobes. The main bedroom is complemented by a huge walk-in wardrobe and very spacious ensuite. The main bathroom is large enough to juggle multiple children getting ready for school or bed. Even the laundry and butler's pantry don't compromise on space. No matter where you are in the home you will never feel boxed in.

On top of the 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms the home boasts an enormous open plan living space that can be arranged to meet the needs of any family. The option is there for 2-4 living areas, a rumpus room, study or home office, all whilst leaving enough space for a large family dining table.

To top it all off the property opens out to a large covered back veranda that is the ideal spot for evening meals, Christmas lunch or just to watch the sunset over the beauty that is Collector.
