Last Listing description (January 2014)

CLARENCE/NEWNES JUNCTION
Newnes Junction must be the least known village in the Blue Mountains.
Tucked away between Mt Victoria, Bell and Lithgow and right on top of the mountains at 1100m above sea level. Newnes Junction was once the connection between the historic Wolgan Valley railway and the original main Western railway (now the Zig-Zag tourist railway).

Originally there were 30 houses, a post office and a school, but now only three houses remain. Things are about to come back to life however, as the Zig Zag steam railway is being extended to the Old Newnes junction station, which will result in a direct fast electric train connection to Lithgow or Sydney.
The house is a charming loft design, ideal as a weekend/holiday retreat or as a cosy home within easy commuting distance to Lithgow, the mountains - 40 minutes or beyond. It is located just off the Bells Line Of Road about 75kms west of Richmond and 12 kms east of Lithgow. Electric power and telephone are connected and this near new home has full council building approval as a residential dwelling. A large 22,500 litre water tank is ample as the rainfall on top of the Blue Mountains has been quite adequate right through the dry spell.
This property enjoys a mild European type of climate, similar to Blackheath, there are four distinct seasons, summers are mild and without humidity and snow may be expected every winter. If this sounds like your perfect getaway at a very modest price, give us a call and we will arrange and early inspection.
