Castle Hill is located approximately 30 kilometres North-West of Sydney CBD and is the main administrative site for the local government area of the Hills Shire Council.
Castle Hill was founded on the 1st of March 1802 by Governor Phillip, almost a year after he began a Government farm. The prison farm was worked by mostly Irish convicts who were exiled and deemed as Politicals for agitation against British Rule.

June 2013 saw the approval of the much talked about rapid transit rail link that will link Rouse Hill to Epping via Castle Hill, which will then connect to Chatswood. Once these have been completed, they will form the first stage of Sydney s rapid transit network. This is expected to open in the first half of 2019 and will be run by driverless trains.
