Last Listing description (October 2013)

Oakside Gardens, 2/69 Albert Street, Berry.
Located right in the heart of beautiful Berry, Oakside Gardens is a small lot development of just eight residences centred around a shared garden shaded by a magnificent old oak tree. With just three three-bedroom residences remaining for sale, Oakside Gardens features all the high quality construction and design features for which local builders Strongbuild are renowned.
The Uniting Church in Albert Street asked us for advice on building a men's shed and subdividing their land, says Jamie Strong of Strongbuild. We designed the men's shed and ended up tendering for the subdivision. We knew there were people living on acres around Berry who were wanting to downsize but stay in the area in a convenient location in town. This site was ideal and our mission was to create something lasting and in keeping with the Berry streetscape and we came up with the idea of a cool collection of weatherboards around the old oak tree, using all the standard detailing we use for large homes on acreage on smaller blocks. The spacious and well-appointed residences are designed to fit into the historic Berry streetscape with rusticated weatherboard cladding, French doors opening to private verandahs and traditional style double-length garages with remote-operated single-tilt panel doors.

Inside, the residences offer nine foot ceilings, hardwood floorboards and wide skirtings plus all that is needed for easy, relaxed modern living and comfort, from underfloor heating in wet areas, to Jetmaster gas fireplaces set in traditional fireplace surrounds and gourmet kitchens fitted with honed Carrara marble benchtops, stainless steel splashbacks, quality Smeg appliances and walk-in pantries.
Each residence has a private yard, with paved outdoor entertaining area and access directly from the laundry to the clothesline.
The remaining residences available are numbers two, five and six. Number two Oakside Gardens has street frontage to Albert Street and a front garden, numbers five and six offer the same floor plan further back on the site. All three residences are three-bedroom, with en suite bathroom and walk-in robe to the main bedroom, plus a main bathroom, spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living areas and a laundry with outdoor access.
Oakside Gardens is the ideal address for those seeking low-maintenance, sophisticated living within strolling distance of shops, cafes, restaurants and sports facilities in the heart of the friendly rural community of Berry.
We wanted to create something we could look back on and be proud of and that everyone in Berry would approve of and like, says Jamie Strong. The feedback from people around town has been really positive so we have achieved our aim. Downsizing to a townhouse doesn't have to mean compromising on quality and style. We've proved that these developments can be done tastefully and people are really appreciating the quality rather than compromise their standards or lifestyle. Property Code: 42
