Last Listing description (October 2022)

If you are looking for a home that is unlike any other on the market, then this striking architecturally-significant, craftsman-built residence is sure to impress.
Sympathetically renovated to exacting standards, this finely crafted 1970's classic is characterised by a bold use of angular shapes, natural materials, dramatic full-length windows and clever sky-lighting providing plentiful natural light and lush garden aspects from every angle.
This lightness and transparency pervades the entire residence which is set on three spectacular levels with polished timber flooring flowing seamlessly throughout.

The main level comprises open-plan lounge, dining and casual meals areas, a bespoke Tasmanian Oak kitchen with integrated European appliances and three of the four bedrooms along with the main bathroom featuring a vintage free-standing claw-footed bath tub and tastefully finished with classic travertine. Two private decks lead out from both the lounge and meals areas, spoiling you with choices for alfresco entertaining.
The downstairs domain accessed via a distinctive internal spiral staircase offers an additional family room and study/home office space along with the segregated main bedroom with its own travertine-tiled ensuite bathroom. An intimate 3rd timber deck leads out from the family room and overlooks the beautifully peaceful established rear garden oasis. The deciduous plantings allow for the delightful combination of sweeping views in winter and welcoming cooling shade during the summer months.
Let your own imagination run wild with how you utilise the sprawling additional top-floor attic and loft space.

The large tree at the front shading the driveway and pergola is a Honey Locust/ Gleditsia also with fragrant flowers in spring. On the north is a mature European Oak and an ornamental Pistachio tree. Closer to the rear boundary is a summer flowering light pink Chinese Flame tree. The mature trees are underplanted with shade loving pink flowering dogwood, Cercis, Camelia, Crepe myrtle and Japanese maple.
More trees were added to the garden in 2010 including a row of spring flowering Manchurian Pear trees "Capital" along the north boundary. Extra Japanese maples and Ginkgo trees were added given the house summer shade and privacy whilst allowing winter sun and mountain views. A very low maintenance garden without lawn. The deciduous plants and trees give the garden a spectacular autumn colour display. Vines covering the decks are purple wisteria, crimson glory vine and some fragrant honey suckle.
The stepping stones are natural sandstone as is the driveway retaining wall.
