The ventilation system extracts stale, moist, polluted air from rooms & provides fresh air taken from outside which is pre-tempered through the use a heat exchanger & then delivered to other rooms. This creates a flow of fresh, clean air throughout the apartment.
Heat is reclaimed from the extracted air & used to preheat incoming fresh air by a heat exchanger which is built into the central ventilation unit. The system operates at 90% efficiency & is very quiet. For example, air being drawn from outside the apartment at 10 degrees is exchanged with 24 degree air being extracted from the apartment to enable fresh air entering the apartment to be at 22.6 degrees.
This Heat Recovery Ventilation System offers a solution to a problem that has plagued Canberra apartments in winter for years & is currently not in any other building except LINQ .

Full height windows throughout LINQ are all double glazed. These full height windows increase the amount of natural light & space whilst the double glazing improves the noise reduction & increases the energy efficiency ratings.
