Last Listing description (November 2022)

Auction Location: On-site.

This will be the third time I have sold 26 Sherbrooke Street, Ainslie, a truly captivating property, in the last 20 years. Every owner has loved it and made it a little bit better but none more so than the current owners. The original dwelling was a double brick 1950s character cottage, fitted with a wood burner/fireplace and ornate cornices, and this combined with the 832m2 block provided the perfect framework for extension - thus an architect was employed and the new version was born!

The finished product, a superb family home that exudes charm and functionality. The rooms are generous in size and the open plan living areas perfectly capture the morning and afternoon light. The original lounge and dining area is spacious but it is the stunning new kitchen and family room (opening onto a lovely low deck) that steals the show. Add to this a huge main bedroom suite with massive walk-in robe and ensuite and you begin to see a perfect picture. The other 3 bedrooms are good-sized, and the whole place has an abundance of storage. Luxury items such as heated towel rails to both bathrooms, mains gas outlet for BBQ on the deck, instant boiling hot tap to kitchen (with automatic safety lock), new pyrolytic oven and induction cook top, plus ducted heating and cooling, will keep you comfortable all year round.

The home is surrounded by high, established hedges, creating superb privacy, and the gardens are serviced by a large rainwater tank. There is also good car accommodation, with plenty of yard left over. Above all this, the current owners have loved the convenience of the location within walking distance to Dickson, the Light Rail, the famous Ainslie shops and Mt Ainslie nature reserve. I think you're going to love it here!
