Millie's Cottage. The ultimate Tasmanian lifestyle
Built c1900 as a miner’s cottage, this quaint home is brimming with character. It has charm with updated conveniences, is cosy, and has a lovely, elevated outlook within easy access to the superb amenities of Derby.
The floor plan offers a living and dining area, 2 bedrooms, a bright kitchen and a bathroom/laundry combo.
A generous north/west facing deck delivers some beautiful garden and town views and is going to be your go to place during the summer months.
This cottage has had extensive upgrades which includes a new roof, re-wired throughout, and new carpets just to name a few.
This cottage is central to many of northern Tasmania’s top tourism offerings. Of course, Derby is the mountain biking hub of Tasmania, but this is only just a small part of the appeal of this area. The lifestyle offerings in the north east of the state are plentiful.
Barnbougle is known as one of the world’s top golfing destinations and is under a 60km drive and along with ticking off a bucket list golf course you can enjoy the local cuisine or treat yourself with the pampering's of the spa treatments available.
Travel east towards St Helens (65km) passing by Weldborough Hotel (dishes up a great meal), Pyengana Dairy (great produce), St Columba Falls (an easy walk to spectacular waterfalls) then landing in seaside St Helens where you can explore further out to Binalong Bay and the stunning Bay of Fires. The North-East and East Coast are home to some of Tasmania's finest vineyards and wineries. Pipers Brook and Clover Hill are top of mind. This is just a small insight into what this area has to offer all within approximately 70km from Derby.
Derby itself offers adventures and relaxation aplenty. The Floating Sauna at Lake Derby is a must and the Hub offers super locally crafted beer and spirits as well as mouthwatering pizzas.
In this tourism driven locale Millie's would make a wonderful short term accommodation option, a weekender or a permanent residence.
