Seller's Reflection

Within days of driving past the block of land that is now home for me at No 29 Augusta Drive, my partner and I became the owners.

The quick decision came about by the positive emotions we felt as we stood looking east to the sea and west to the beautiful mountains. The land covered with paper bark trees welcomed us.

Prior to building, we came mostly on a Sunday to sit, picnic and plan. Within the home that was built, the timber features give a welcoming warmth. The French doors open wide from four rooms enabling the breezes to enter and cool the area.

The south easterlies are viewed and enter through the kitchen windows. Looking out to the colourful tropical garden, fruit trees and vegetables have their own section of the land and reward the household with bananas, limes, mandarins, cumquats, vanilla and mulberries.

Sun rises and sun sets viewed from the verandah are varied and inform the household of what is to come, weather wise. By treading lightly in all that was planned and implemented, the positive and welcoming feeling of the first day remains and is my wish that this to be handed on.

Balgal Beach is located approximately 50km north of Townsville and is a popular destination for swimming, boating and fishing.

Community amenities include a local primary school, doctor's surgery, pharmacy, general store, golf club, beachfront park with BBQs and swings and a patrolled stinger net during peak times. There is also an excellent boat ramp and fishing pontoon at the mouth of Rollingstone creek.

Balgal Beach is also within close proximity to popular tourist and fresh water swimming destinations such as Rollingstone Creek, Crystal Creek and Paluma Village.
